People are not a diagnosis or list of symptoms. We view people as a human who has had impactful experiences, who has tried to manage and deal with those experiences the best way they can, and is now looking for some help with that

Individual Therapy

Not currently accepting new clients

Individual therapy can be a bit daunting at times, but can be well worth it! We will first identify what is happening in your life you would rather not have happen anymore, then explore and understand the context of your life these challenges evolved from. We will explore your history together to understand how you made sense of your experiences at the time, and therefore how they come together to make you, you. Both your strengths and difficulties.

  • We start off by helping you make sense to you, and where possible, to see the domino-effect of your life experiences with compassion. When you’re ready, therapy will target and try and shift the formative memories that resulted in you thinking and behaving the way you do, so they cease to have a negative impact on your present. My primary framework, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), is perfectly place to achieve this.

I want the therapy experience to feel collaborative, and not something that I do to you. I will engage in the session with you and provide input along the way to help you understand you. My style is casual and reasonably direct to help you feel comfortable, but also make sure the sessions have purpose and feel like they are moving toward the goals you are looking to achieve.

I will endeavor to provide a compassionate space free from judgement. My goal is to provide you with targeted treatment toward your chosen goals with the hope that therapy may not be needed in the future.

Supervision

Individual & Group

Currently accepting new supervisees

If you are a clinician seeking supervision, Nikki is a Board Approved Supervisor and would love to work with you to hone your skills and thrive as a clinician! Nikki unashamedly gets excited talking all things EMDR and psychology. She loves to work with a supervisee to explore challenges and teach skills and guiding principles which can be applied to present and future challenges. Supervision sessions will have a strong trauma-informed lens to understand the impact of life experiences on an individual, and how we can use this information for successful treatment outcomes.

  • …Supervision sessions will aim to be collaborative, will provide a space where you can be vulnerable in your learning, and all questions are absolutely encouraged!

As Nikki is primarily an Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) clinician. Supervision will be best suited to those who have also received a minimum of EMDR Level 1 training.

Supervision with Nikki will permit you to log the time as Peer Supervision professional development, but not as consultation hours with EMDRAA. But I’m working on it! Watch this space!
